I have always enjoyed hunting. We spent 32 years in Alabama raising a family. After our girls all left home we moved to Colorado in 2011. I soon saw a need for a better decoy. Packing extra weight is not my definition of fun. Also the draw was critical. When you are close enough to shoot, the elk is definitely close enough to see you.
We went to Wyoming to see friends and while there I bought a Wild Rag. A Wild Rag is another name for a cowboy bandana. They are made of silk and keep your neck warm in the cold windy weather of the west. On the way home I started to think that there needed to be a Wild Rag printed in camo for hunters. Next was the thought that I could mount that on my bow with a frame. Viola! Put a animal picture on it and you have a "decoy - blind" all rolled into one.
I went to work on design. I contacted my patent lawyer and did a patent search, nothing close, Yes! My lawyer was about as excited as I was. He said it was only the third time in twenty years of practice that the patent issued with no claims challenged. A very strong patent.
This is my vision for Poison Arrow Gear. I want to be small enough to be responsive to you, my fellow hunter. If there is something you do not like or something you would want that I don't have, let me know. I will work with you. I do my printing in house so I can get a decoy of anything you want. If you want a different background, let me know, we can make it happen.
Also I want to keep my business in the U.S. I ran a business in Alabama and the thing I enjoy the most is the relationship with my customers and suppliers. Sure, I want to make money, but I have learned that relationships are the most important. I want my customers to be my friends. My policy is that you will be satisfied, period. I will do anything in my power to keep you happy. If you ever see a way to improve my product, or a need for some other type of gear, contact me, l will try my best to make it happen.
I look forward to serving the hunting community with the best product I can produce.
